چکیده

P. Frankovský, F. Trebuňa, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Košice, Slovakia The presented article demonstrates the application of PhotoStress® method in stress analysis of a rotating disc of a constant thickness, which was made of a photoelastic material PS-1A. Isoclinic fringes were observed on the rotating disc using linear polarized light at revolutions 5 000 RPM. Observations were carried out under angle parameter 0 o to 90 o with 10 o increase. A set of isostatic lines of I and II set was made from the set of obtained isoclinic lines. During gradual increase of rotations of the rotating disc up to 17 000 RPM, and with circular polarized light, we observed the distribution of colourful isochromatic fringes on the rotating disc. The field of isochromatic fringes, gained experimentally, at 15 000 RPM was compared with the field which was gained by means of a numerical analysis.

Steady Thermal Stresses in a Thin Rotating Disc of Finitesimal Deformation with Mechanical Load

Seth’s transition theory is applied to the problems of thickness variation parameter in a thin rotating disc by finite deformation. Neither the yield criterion nor the associated flow rule is assumed here. The results obtained here are applicable to compressible materials. If the additional condition of incompressibility is imposed, then the expression for stresses corresponds to those arising ...

Stress Analysis of Rotating Thick Truncated Conical Shells with Variable Thickness under Mechanical and Thermal Loads

In this paper, thermo-elastic analysis of a rotating thick truncated conical shell subjected to the temperature gradient, internal pressure and external pressure is presented. Given the existence of shear stress in the conical shell due to thickness change along the axial direction, the governing equations are obtained based on first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT). These equations are so...

Stress Redistribution Analysis of Piezomagnetic Rotating Thick-Walled Cylinder with Temperature-and Moisture-Dependent Material Properties

In this article, the problem of time-dependent stress redistribution of a piezomagnetic rotating thick-walled cylinder under an axisymmetric hygro-thermo-magneto-electro-mechanical loading is analyzed analytically for the condition of plane strain. Using the constitutive equations, a differential equation is found in which there are creep strains. Primarily, eliminating creep strains, an analyt...

Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis of Thermoelastic Stresses of FGM Rotating Disk Considering Temperature-Dependency of Material Properties

In the present paper, nonlinear radial and hoop thermoelastic stresses analysis of a disk made of FGMs material is investigated. According to this purpose, finite element method is used. In the present method, second-order one-dimensional element (with three node points) is proposed. The geometrical and stress boundary conditions are defined in the state of non-existence of external pressure an...
